Safe and Sound

After a long day, Megan is finally here. Her plane arrived in Nashville before noon then she and her mom decided to do a little shopping before coming home.

Poor child. She had been up for over 24 hours, but somehow managed the strength to make it through Opry Mills Mall. What a trooper!

Ready When You Are? I Don't Think So

This is the old Delta slogan and for good reason. My daughter got to the airport this morning to catch a 6 AM flight and it had been delayed. She's coming "home" for a week and this means we will get to spend less time with her. She's been up all night (I'd like to think it's the excitement of seeing me; it's actually the fear of oversleeping) and she will now get here and, most likely, go back to bed. Just like old times.

Delta's current motto is, I believe, "We Get You There." No promise of exactly when, but it's a start.

This Country's Going to Hale

Seriously People...

Other churches only have this for one Sunday? FBC Humboldt gets to experience it every single week (except when I'm on vacation).

Reminds me of an old joke: Two cannibals are eating a clown in the jungle and one says to the other, "Does this taste funny to you"? I said it reminds me of an OLD joke, not a GOOD joke.

Today is Tuesday. Do you know where your children are? They should be at Vacation Bible School if they live in or around Humboldt, TN. It starts at 9 o'clock.

Bible School Begins Today

Today is the big day: the beginning of Vacation Bible School. There is an excitement in the air as we prepare to have a "house" full of boys and girls at FBC.

Our workers have done a great job decorating (thanks Jaclyn for splitting my choir with a waterfall) and the boys and girls should be really pumped when they see what's in store for them.

I am leading music for the week. Songs like "Look All the World Over, There's No One Like You (And We're All So Glad)" and "God Loves Me Better Than You" WON'T be used.
