Yo Ho, Yo Ho .. a Pyro's Life for Me

Last night was the Opening Ceremony (Sunday? It was just the pre-show) for the West Tennessee Strawberry Festival at Barker Memorial Stadium in Humboldt and we pretty much packed the place out.

There was music from the Humboldt Jazz Band (great job, John Scruggs and crew!!) and the Tennessee Christian Youth Choir (a 60 voice black gospel group from Jackson that 'got down wid it' and had the crowd up on their feet in no time).

All that was missing was the offering! Can I get a witness?

The evening concluded with a Fireworks extravaganza (awesome job, Steve Trask, Tennessee Pyrotechnic .. because you like to blow things up .. you 'complete' me) that was an .. extravaganza!

What a night!

This morning there is a prayer (very appropriate after last evening .. just like we do it at church .. huge fireworks then we pray) breakfast at Central Avenue Christian Church.

By eight o'clock it will be "three down" and only fifty one festival events to go.

I just hope I can hold out to the end. I'm not getting any younger, you know!

"Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall." - Isaiah 40:30
