Fly Like An Eagle

Weather permitting (at this writing the wind is fierce and they .. whoever they are .. are calling for strong storms all morning), I am taking a group of senior adults to see the eagles this morning at Reelfoot Lake.

We schedule this outing every Spring and no matter what day we choose (in February or March), there is some type of weather crisis.

One year it was snowing.

On another occasion there was freezing rain/sleet and ice.

Today .. I really know how to pick 'em (no, I don't refer to the Farmer's Almanac and try to find the nastiest day of the year .. though it does appear that way), don't I?

Yesterday morning we began with thirty six signed up. By the end of the workday (5 o'clock is the official time .. I 'lost interest' well before 3:30 PM) we had dropped seven.

Who knows what our numbers will be by eight o'clock today (8:00 o'clock is really 7:45 AM in senior adult time .. it's quite complicated and requires a chronograph watch and calculator to compute .. somehow they end up with more than 24 hours in a day).

Hopefully, we will have enough to go on as planned.

Lunch is "all you can eat" catfish/ham/chicken with the trimmings at Boyette's.

That should be worth braving a little thing .. like 60 mph winds.
