June Is Bustin' Out All Over

Well, it's hard to believe today is June 1. It seems like only yesterday we were in the very merry month of May.

Poor Cheryl (and every one else in the Humboldt city system) is still in school and will be until Thursday. No built-in snow days came back and bit 'em (like Marv Albert). To add insult to injury (hey cripple .. nice tie), that's the last day for .. students. Teachers and staff, your "break" (and this is the perfect word for it .. many are about to) is still on hold.

Summer doesn't officially start until June 21 this year. However, try telling the students (or staff) that. They "checked out" weeks ago.

In the past, I would have been just a little unsympathetic with anyone complaining about only having eight weeks off for the summer. Poor baby.

Since working in children's choir again, I can now understand this completely and see it as a necessity for the well-being .. and safety .. of the children.

Killing kids (even the ones who would cause you no remorse) could put a damper on any vacation plans.

"Yea, young children despised me; I arose, and they spake against me." - Job 19:18
