We had a record attendance (there were a couple of cassettes and a CD, as well) at our Youth of Yesterday meeting last evening. That's right. It was pork roast night .. and Bill Kisner and I were in the house prepared (okay, unprepared) to amuse and amaze.
Since "everybody and his brother" seemed to be there (the brother should have stayed home .. he didn't get some of the jokes), it's a shame we didn't really have an "exact" program prepared.
We did half-way know what we would do, but as far as writing out an agenda and dedicating hours to rehearsal .. that didn't happen.
It never does.
Fortunately, we are used to "shooting from the hip" and "flying by the seat of our pants" (expressions that still leave me 'scratching my head') so, things were pretty much normal .. for us.
The great thing about being famous (we're like celebrities in Humboldt .. not Doug Atkins or T.G. Sheppard status .. mind you .. but pretty well known, nonetheless) is that people don't remember what you say (this is certainly a blessing). They just want to catch a glimpse of you so they can say to their friends, "Guess who I saw last night?"
Well, they came, they saw, they smiled, and a few laughed.
To make that even more amazing, we didn't even have to drop our pants .. darn it.
".. that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon."
