Dolly Llama

The Country Fair was a huge success at First Baptist Church on Saturday night with an attendance of 550-600. Thanks, Jaclyn and crew for making it all happen.

There was plenty of food (all items were 25¢ .. a deal in these hard economic times), games, and candy (not included in the food category .. the stuff's pure sugar .. it's like crack for kids) for the boys and girls .. and their parents.

One of the most popular areas this year was the "Petting Zoo," where the kids could see and touch a cow, yak, goat, pig, sheep, etc. (there's nothing quite like rubbing a llama all night and then pouring a bag of M&Ms in your hand and poppin' em in your mouth.. umm good).

My little buddy, Gabe (he came dressed as a STOP sign), wanted to hang around the animal pen all night long. In fact, he wouldn't leave until the last animal was loaded (they had been drinking like fish), the pen was disassembled, and the "poop" was scooped.

The child was totally fascinated with the animals. I'm sure he'll grow up to be a vetenarian .. or a taxidermist. Only time will tell.

The Country Fair is now only a faint memory (I slipped in some manure and hit my head.. everything is so foggy). Never fear, however. It will be back, next year.

You'll be able to smell it coming a mile away.
